Alexandre Dumas Fils - Autographed letter signed to Joseph Primoli with its envelope, Chatillon-sur-Loire - 1879. Autographed letter signed by Alexandre Dumas Fils, to Count Primoli Joseph Napoléon, whom he calls "My dear child", dated September 6, 1879, in Chatillon-sur-Loire. Joseph Primoli kept a journal in which he expressed his admiration and friendship for Alexandre Dumas fils, showing an almost filial love towards him. Primoli had feelings for Dumas fils' daughter, Jeannine, but did not dare to declare them until their engagement in 1890. Their correspondence reveals an affectionate personal relationship and the significant influence of Dumas fils on Primoli's literary sensibility.

He was a French novelist and playwright, like his father, and enjoyed success as an author. Joseph Napoléon, Count Primoli, was born in Rome on May 2, 1851 and died in Rome on June 13, 1927. He was a Franco-Italian socialite of the 19th century, nicknamed Gégé.
