Autograph letter signed, addressed to Étienne Bodin, répétiteur at the Conservatory, later piano professor. Opening hole from a seal. He chooses the duet by Elisa and Claudio (the opera Elisa e Claudio by Saverio Mercadante) and thanks him “for finding a place for [his] trio. I will take care of the singers, if Mme Lefevre is well. It is entitled: The Return of the Sailors.” His trio dates from 1843. In 1850, Étienne Bodin was the author of the famous Complete and Rational Treatise on the Elementary Principles of Music.
