Autographed letter signed by Emile Littré - 1879. Request for intervention on behalf of Charles Wall addressed to Auguste Emile Egger - 2 handwritten pages, signed, dated March 1879. Excerpt Paris, March 29, 1879. Wall, author of various publications on the French language, translator of Molière, whose work appears to be very well received, is a principal master at Halbrake School, an Englishman who wishes to become a member of our linguistic society. Émile Littré (1801/1881), physician, lexicographer, philosopher, and politician, is best known for his dictionary of the French Language.
Auguste Émile Egger (1813/1885), a Hellenist and agrégé of Letters, was a member of the institute. Charles Heron Wall (1836/1905), professor in various prestigious British schools, has extensively translated the works of Molière. Do not hesitate to check my other listed items.
